Mezzanine Floors

Mezzanine Floors offer a very efficient solution to unlocking useable space within your existing building.

Mezzanine Services & Capability

Project52 works in close partnership with Davicon, the UK ’s market leading manufacture of mezzanine floors, to provide our Customers with a full support service from the initial enquiry stage right through to installation.

There are no restrictions in terms of size, shape or height and all mezzanine floors can be supplied with multiple tiers if required. All mezzanine floors are effectively customised to suit the specific end-user and site requirements.

Manufacturing

State of the art 3D design techniques result in the most cost effective mezzanine design solutions. That way you can be sure that your mezzanine floor will be right first time and installed in the shortest timeframe possible.

The latest computer automated manufacturing equipment incorporating automatic drilling, punching and sawing are used. This is linked directly to our CAD design office enabling a very efficient turn around of mezzanine projects.

Quality

Quality management system is approved to BSI ISO 9001:2000, with a policy of continuous improvement. All mezzanine structures are designed in accordance with BS449, BS5950, BS6399 and the latest building regulations. Davicon is an active member of both SEMA (Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association) and SHEDA (Storage and Handling Equipment Distributors Association) and exceeds their rigorous codes of practice.

Process

The normal project timetable is as follows:

Week 1 - Detailed site survey
Week 2 - Design and production of general arrangement (GA) drawing
Week 3 - Client approval of design and GA
Week 4 - Structural steel manufacture
Week 5 - Mezzanine installation

The flowchart below shows the 'typical' process that we follow:

During the development phase, we will be pleased to provide fast budgetary costs for your feasibility studies. Costs will depend on the size, loading and specification of the floor.

Having received your mezzanine order, we will normally take responsibility for obtaining all building control and fire regulation approval.

However, should you wish to gain these approvals yourself before committing, we will require a purchase order to design and provide structural drawings with calculations for you to submit to the local authority. This process typically takes 2 weeks and usually costs less than £1,000.

Design modifications can be introduced during the first 2 weeks, although this may result in additional delay and cost once structure steelwork is completed.

As the customer, you will have the option to install the floor using your own resources but we recommend that manufacture undertakes this using their own fully accredited and trained mezzanine floor installation teams. Should any issues arise during installation, then they will have full responsibility throughout the process.

In addition to the floor, we can also design, supply and install additional access flooring requirements to include: stairways, handrails, pallet gates, cat ladders and wear plates.
