Racking

Are you looking for Pallets?

  Pallet Racking

The Palletstor racking system, one of the most widely used pallet racking systems available today, is easily installed, cost effective and versatile, enabling direct access to each pallet stored.
Using AutoCAD, each racking system is configured by our designers to meet precise criteria in terms of load volume and weight, accessibility, handling requirements and space utilisation, to form a safe and efficient structure.
Palletstor can be used to create high rise narrow aisle systems, drive-in and double depth pallet racking, raised platforms, shelving, pallet live, carton live and push back solutions. This system also offers a range of practical add-on accessories, enabling the safe storage of an extended range of items. (See Below)
Modular components are powder coated and stove enamelled to provide a durable finish. Customer’s house colours and galvanised finish are also available on request.

All components are designed, manufactured and tested to conform to the SEMA Code of Practice.
Delivery for all standard items normally 5 to 8 days FRO

Timber Decking
A cost effective, durable option to steel panels, ideal to support mixed sizes of stored pallets. All bay sizes available in either in closed or open boarded configurations with no special fixings.

Mesh Decking
Designed to provides excellent ventelation of products stored and a dust free surface. Recommended by Fire Authorities and insurance companies for premises with sprinkler systems installed. All bay sizes available with no special fixings required.

Rack Protection

RakGard© ~ is an extensively tested and proven product, designed to minimise accidental structural damage to racking uprights caused by pallet movements in and out of storage bays.

Unlike steel equivalents, these cost effective products are simple to install and replace in 2 to 3 minutes, requiring no floor drilling or bolting, therefore avoiding costly maintenance.

When fitted the guard is designed to absorb impacts that would normally result in damage to the upright. Available in 3 heights to fit most pallet racking systems in standard safety yellow, high glow fluorescent yellow and luminescent white.

Cantilever Racking ~ Custom Heavy Duty

Our heavy duty cantilever racking systems have evolved through continuous development over a period of 30 years. With a choice of cantilever arm connection methods, Bolted, ‘QuickLoc’ or Clamped, each system is custom designed and manufactured to meet precise criteria in terms of load volume and weight, accessibility, handling requirements and space utilisation, to provide a safe and efficient structure. Standard finish is blue epoxy painted.

Cantilever arms ends are radiused to minimise accidental damage to products when being loaded and incorporates fixed/removable end stops to retain stored products. Base arms incorporate a fully rounded and plated end to minimise impact damage to fork lift trucks.

Cantilever upright columns offer a dual function, being punched/perforated on both sides for connection of base and arms at various pitches, this also provides for easy conversion from Single to Double Sided use (visa-versa) to meet changing Customer’s needs.

Quality Finish

The hot rolled structural steel components are shot blasted clean, primed, undercoated and finished in a choice of coloured industrial enamel paint. Customer's house colours and hot dip galvanised finish are also available on request.

Generally, cantilever racking is subjected to the dynamics of loading and unloading, unbalanced loads, wind and snow forces and possibly heavy or abusive handling by FLT operatives. Therefore, all our cantilever designs are physically load tested by the manufacturer to 200%* of their stated working load capacity, before permanent deflection.

*Please note: Currently, there is no Code of Practice specifically regulating the design and use of
cantilever racking systems. Most UK manufactures use ‘BS449 and BS5950~Structural Use of Steel in Buildings’, together with ‘BS5235~Weldable Steels’, as a basis for their theoretical cantilever designs, which only specify a working load Safety Factor of 70% approx.

  Racking Inspections

Racking Inspections should be an integral part of any safety systems within a warehouse environment. The inspection provides a means of identifying deterioration in a pallet racking system or similar shelving structure, liable to result in a dangerous situation.

Inspections and maintenance are specified as a legal requirement by the Health and safety Executive as stated in the current ‘Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations’ (PUWER).

A regular inspection every 6 or 12 months should therefore be carried out by technically competent professional to identify necessary repairs or problems. Inspections should also be carried out in instances of any damage caused by accidents involving forklift trucks or other heavy machinery.

Following inspection, Project52 are also able to advise you on the most cost effective way of replacing or repairing damaged racking, saving you time and money.
